In October 1998, Matthew Shepard was kidnapped, severely beaten and tied to a fence on the outskirts of Laramie, Wyoming and left to die. Members of the Tectonic Theater Project went to Laramie, where they conducted more than 200 interviews from which they created a chronicle of the life of the town in the year after the murder. One of the most performed plays in America today, The Laramie Project is “a pioneering work and powerful stage event,” raves Time magazine. Directed by Suzanne Westfall.
